Greg made a good start this morning after spending a wet night in a park. His progress slowed when the winds rose to over twenty knots , and he was forced to abandon his plan of landing on a small island in favour of heading for the riverbank at Germantown. Here he was discovered by a fellow kayaker, Robin Raskin, who kindly took him to shelter from the storm. As the bad weather is expected to last until Monday, Greg is now planning to spend a few days with his family at their holiday home near Rhinebeck.
Enjoy the break Greg and I know you will go hard when the weather clears.
ReplyDeleteWhen are you due back in NZ Greg? I could organise a reunion weekend like we did after your Mississippi trip.
